| SCRIPT PREVIEW | | Synopsis | We underestimate children when we only involve them in the happy Easter celebrations. They can and are able to understand and participate in the solemnity and reverence of Holy Week. Their young voices open this short program with a hushed echo that resounds antiphonally – “Have you heard? They have taken him to the Romans.” Then children get to “act their age” with monologues of actual child characters that appear in Scripture: Seizure Boy, Resurrected Girl, Kingdom of Heaven Child, Blessing Child, Temple Child and Gentile Child. Between each, Leader asks, “Why did they take him?” The reflective conclusion is the reading of a Psalm as the altar is stripped, after which all exit in silence. Includes a very short Easter recitation to connect the two services. | | Related Titles: | | A series of contemporary dialogs for Lent and Easter Contemporary skits for each Sunday of Lent An Easter morning program for children A children's presentation for Easter |
