Synopsis
Advent candlelighting is enhanced by this series of four lively sketches featuring members of an extended family preparing for christmas. Included are: 1. I Can’t Wait!—A child has a hard time waiting for the family holiday trip to his grandparent’s house (Candle of Prophecy; theme: expectation). 2. House Cleaning—Just as Grandma and Grandpa ready their house for the holiday gathering, we should prepare our hearts so Jesus can reside there (Candle of Bethlehem; theme: preparation). 3. A Lot of Work for a Birthday—In the midst of Christmas gift-giving, daughter Patty is asked, “What are you going to give to Jesus?” (Shepherds’ Candle; theme: sharing). 4. What We Give—Patty tells the family what she gave Jesus for Christmas: help to one in need (Candle of Love; theme: giving).
