| | Synopsis | | Everyone enjoys decorating a tree at Christmastime. Why not do the same at Easter? This innovative program has as its centerpiece a cross tree made from three bare branches. Children decorate the tree with symbols of Easter to celebrate Christ's resurrection. Patterns are included for angel, butterfly, lamb, cross, crown and lily ornaments. Each child places his or her ornament on the tree and briefly explains the Scripture-based meaning behind it. Verses of "The Easter Tree Song" (set to a familiar tune) are interspersed with the symbol explanations. Many children may participate as singers and tree trimmers. The construction of the Easter tree ornaments are an excellent Lenten activity for Sunday school children.
