SCRIPT PREVIEW
Synopsis
No rehearsal necessary! This Maundy Thursday drama is like no other with its irresistible element of surprise. Members of your congregation are recruited to be the actors on the spot! When the service begins, the pastor assigns the roles of the disciples to men or to teens and women also, to symbolize that all are called to be disciples. In Last Supper style, they sit at a long table. Each disciple reads a mini-monolog descriptive of his background and his association with Jesus, concluding with, "Is it I(who will betray Jesus)?" Involving congregants draws them into the heartbreak and suspense of the eve before the Crucifixion. Because the parts are short, it's easy to do a "cold" reading. This exciting impromptu format is certain to make your congregation sit up and take notice!
