These mini-programs provide balance by focusing on the true meaning of Christmas through Scripture readings, narration and singing that focus on a different biblical character each week. Children sing a new verse of "The Advent Song" (to the tune of "Good Christian Friends Rejoice") and slowly build the Nativity by adding figures to the scene: Week 1 - Mary, Joseph, and animals. Week 2 - Angel. Week 3 - Shepherds and sheep. Week 4 - Wise men and camels. The scripts' short lengths make them easy to include as a Sunday school opening or as the children's sermonette as an alternative to, or in conjunction with, the traditional Advent candlelighting.
