SCRIPT PREVIEW
Synopsis
There's plenty of visual interest in this collection that positions Advent as a month-long "hanging of the greens." Players incorporate a new decorative item into the sketch each Sunday. Each sanctuary decoration, coupled with one verse of "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel," amplifies the weekly theme. Included are: 1. The Reminder Wreath—A woman losing her sight finds she still needs the Advent wreath to feel God's light. 2. The Advent Garden—Like a plant anchored in good soil, a church needs to be rooted in God. 3. Color Codes—The dark blues and bright whites of the candles depict moving from hopelessness to hope. 4. In Preparation—One red poinsettia amid the white ones symbolizes Jesus' crucifixion. 5. Welcome, Emmanuel—A joyful liturgical dance in the fully decorated sanctuary on Christmas Eve culminates in the lighting of lamps and a brief Advent recap. Very inclusive—features a variety of ages. Unusually creative!
