| SCRIPT PREVIEW | | Synopsis | Have times changed? Yes and no. These five sketches take an unflinching look at the ills of our society. Two persons discuss stories that sound straight from today's headlines—but they're from the Bible! Each week a different character enters with a relevant "sign" and they discuss the implications for our contemporary world. The weekly characters and prop signs with the biblical tie-in are: 1. The Violence Sign (boiling-over pot)—Cain and Abel, 2. The Covet Sign (basket of "stuff")—Adam and Eve, 3. The Cold, Hard Sign (stone)—Good Samaritan, 4. The Fear Sign (blanket)—Israelites wandering in the wilderness, 5. The Sign of the Cross. The last sign is an antidote to each of the previous signs, with a dialogue of healing and hope. This Lenten series asks all the right questions and probes a little deeper. A rewarding exercise sure to prick your congregation's conscience. |
