Each letter presents a rich meaning based on a key word from the biblical account, resulting in an alphabet journey that tells the Christmas story in nine segments read by children. The letters and their meaning are: R – Root of Jesse, C – Caesar Augustus, T – Traveler, I – Innkeeper, S – Shepherds, A – Angels, M – Manger, S – Savior, H – Holy night. At the program’s conclusion, the children, who hold decorative posters of each initial, rearrange themselves to spell “Christmas” as they recite an original poem that highlights each letter’s meaning. The letter posters may be created as an Advent activity.
