SCRIPT PREVIEW
Synopsis
The humor of blending biblical stories with today's language, idiosyncrasies and gadgets —think Hebrew homework and s'mores around the shepherds' campfire—bridge the 2,000 years since Jesus' birth in these sketches. The New Testament characters share our human weaknesses: too blind to see, too lazy to listen, too greedy to be kind, too overwhelmed to care. Included are: 1. Adjust the Clock—Anna the prophetess brings a message of peace to a harried man. 2. Pack the Glasses—One of the wise men, "Bubba," doesn't get the significance of the star. 3. Unplug the Ears—A shepherd can't believe that his future king is sleeping in a water trough. 4. Soften the Heart—A greedy innkeeper gouges his guests until his wife convinces him to let Joseph have the manger for free. The themes—stop, look, listen and prepare—complement the traditional Advent themes of peace, hope, joy and love.
