SCRIPT PREVIEW
Synopsis
This poignant play tugs at your heartstrings and doesn't let go. The cake is baked. The decorations are in place. In the midst of this festive setting, a boy (representing Christ) excitedly waits for the guests to arrive at his birthday party. However, everyone is too busy to come. Just when he begins to despair that no one has remembered the importance of his birthday, a pint-sized guest arrives—his presence more of a gift than any package could be. This dramatic integration of the Parable of the Banquet is a departure from the traditional Christmas play, yet it is rich with significance. It poses the question: How might our seasonal activities rob us of the heart of Christmas? A jewel of a play that will linger in everyone's memory long after the gifts are unwrapped and the tree put away.
