| SCRIPT PREVIEW | | Synopsis | Six characters give first-person accounts of their perspectives on the birth of Jesus. Stories include: 1. Mary—Her doubts give way to joy at bearing God's son. 2. Joseph—An angel's visit convinces Joseph not to divorce Mary. 3. Innkeeper's Wife—She led them to the stable, unaware that Jesus was about to be born. 4. Angel—That proclamation in the night sky is true for us today. 5. Shepherd—He marvels that "society's outcasts" were chosen by God to see Jesus. 6. Wise Man—Jesus had come, and the wise men had come to honor him. Each monologue relates to a carol sung by the congregation and a Scripture reading. As the characters complete their lines, one by one they join an unfolding Nativity tableau. A beautifully simple traditional program requiring only a minimum of rehearsal and no memorization. | | Related Titles: | | A reading for an Advent service A woman's program of five monologs for the Advent Season Five monologs for Advent and Christmas A monolog program about Christ's birth |
