Synopsis
Holy cannoli! It's an Italian restaurant in Chicago circa 1930 with all the ingredients for a mystery in the style of old detective films. There's corruption, cynicism and situations stickier than overcooked pasta, featuring Tony "The Tough" Moretti with rumored mob connections, a has-been private eye, an "old world" matriarch named (what else?) Mama Mia, a gorgeous femme fatale, a bodyguard with a penchant for lollipops, a waitress who knows more than anyone suspects and a simply dreadful cook – not to mention a city full of thugs bent on getting their mitts on the Moretti family business. Can Detective Thursday crack the conspiracy case? Are the alibis flimsy, al dente or rock solid? Grab a clue! Includes character profiles and motivations, impromptu bit parts for audience members and ideas for a striking black-and-white set in the film noir genre. The theme is forgiveness. Chow on Italian cuisine until it’s time to say ciao!
