Synopsis
For years, this beautiful story in play form has been one of our best sellers. Now we have adapted it into a dramatized musical that tells the story of Conrad, the shoemaker. The Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying he would visit on Christmas Eve. All night long, Conrad waits for Jesus. But his only visitors are a weary beggar, an old woman and a lost child. He fulfills each of their needs. The voice of the Lord later reveals, in song, the truth of his visit: "Conrad, three times I came to your friendly door, Three times my shadow was on your floor. I was the beggar with bruised feet; I was the woman you chanced to meet; I was the child lost on the street." Four original songs with musical accompaniment are included: "He's Never Broken His Promise," "I Thought It Was Him," "Come, Lord Jesus" and "When Did We See You, Lord?"
