| | SCRIPT PREVIEW | | | Synopsis | | This play within a play opens with the pastor and two "seekers" enacting a short Easter drama from the Middle Ages. The seekers are looking for Jesus' body at the tomb. When the brief Middle Ages play is over, the seekers persist. "If Jesus really rose from the dead, then why isn't he here?" they ask. A lively dialog ensues between the pastor and the seekers - a study in apologetics, or defense of Christianity, in layman's terms. Through the questioning and doubt, the ending is a triumphant celebration of faith for the "seeker" in us all, with the congregation filing out into the Easter morning sunrise singing "Christ the Lord Is Risen Today." |
