Synopsis
Break out the saddle shoes and poodle skirts - this warmhearted spoof of the holiday classic "It's a Wonderful Life" sets the action in the fabulous fifties! Your dinner guests will meet "Pops Bailor," proprietor of a soda shop. He's about to lose his business after loaning money to his needy sister Iris, who is unable to pay it back. Crafty Homer Crankshaw wants to buy the shop (and then demolish it), but Pop's not selling out. In despair, he considers burning the place down. "I wish I'd never been born," he says. Enter Clarabella, his guardian angel. She shows him what it would be like if that were true. All those who benefited from his helping hands and generous heart would be left in need. In the end, his friends chip in and he gets to keep the shop - oh, and Clarabella gets her wings! Many opportunities for fun fifties music if you wish.
