| SCRIPT PREVIEW | | Synopsis | Finally, a Maundy Thursday script that touches on the Last Supper but doesn't call for 13 men to play the parts of Jesus and the disciples. The scene is the Upper Room, still littered with the remains of the previous night's Passover meal—the Last Supper. Mary, John and Mary Magdalene sit at the table, numbed by grief. Together, the three search for meaning in the face of tragedy. Why did Jesus have to die? And will he really rise again? The play's short length means it may easily be incorporated into a Maundy Thursday or Good Friday service with ample time left for the sermon, Communion and music. Smaller churches will find it easy to cast. A poignant play of tender introspection. |
